Dig Deeper with Dean Parrish
The “Dig Deeper” concert series, which specializes in bringing long-lost soul singers back to the stage, presents the New York native Dean Parrish, who cut a number of singles between 1964 and 1967 before dropping off the map. His work became hugely popular with Northern Soul fans in England during the mid-seventies, although he didn’t become aware of it until 2001, when a U.K. d.j. found him at home in Staten Island. Parrish, who has since resumed his career (even recording a new single written by Paul Weller), is here on Aug. 28, for what is only his second home-town show in more than four decades.
Date: August 28
